KANJI
The Kanji represent the name of our karate, Kyokushinkai It means “Ultimate Truth”.
The kanji is displayed on the dogi (left chest area) and can be broken down as follow.
KYOKUSHINKAI

These characters were originally painted by Sensei Haramotoki, calligraphy friend of Mas Oyama.

KANKU
The symbol of Kyokushin karate is the Kanku.
This is derived from the Kanku Kata, sky-gazing form, in which the hands are raised to scan the sky and the symbol is form.
The points of the Kanku are represented by the first finger of each hand touching at the top and the thumbs touching at the botton, symbolizing the ultimate peaks.
The thick sections on each side represent the wrists and imply power.
The center represent the opening between the hands through which the sky is viewed, symbolizing infinity depth.
The whole Kanku is enclosed by a circle, implying continuity and circular movement.
